– If you’re interested in the field of child health care and are looking for a job, then you’ve come to the right place.
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has released a list of the top 100 health care jobs for 2016.
Among the top 200 most-popular jobs, child health, primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatric surgery ranked at the top of the list.
Alabama ranked fourth, at No. 5.
The state was fifth on the list with 10,927 jobs.
“These are the top jobs in Alabama and the majority of them pay well,” said Dan Schaffer, the executive director of the Center for Career Development and Career Pathways at the Alabama Council on Career Services.
“This is the best state for young adults looking to work in the health care field.
The quality of care in Alabama is exceptional and we need to continue to keep this momentum going.”
Among the states with the highest percentage of the state’s jobs in the state government sector, Alabama ranked fifth, with nearly 70% of its jobs in government.
Other states with high percentages of government jobs include Texas (65%), Georgia (62%), Florida (61%), Kentucky (61%) and Wisconsin (60%).
Among the most popular states in the U.P., Alabama ranked highest in job creation and retention, with the state adding nearly 18,000 jobs during the first quarter of 2017.
For the second quarter, the state added 1,818 jobs, the most in a quarter since 2012.
In the state as a whole, the job growth rate was up 1.2%.
Alabama was No. 6 on the job creation list in the nation, followed by Florida (4.2%), Texas (4), Arizona (4) and Texas (5).
The state’s unemployment rate fell to 5.7% for the first time since March.
“The economy has grown, but so has the workforce,” said Schaffer.
“More and more people are looking to take advantage of the opportunities the workforce has.”
